Reviews:

"Don't use ephedera because i read about looking for diet pills and its dangerous it will kill you insted of helping you lose weight so try other things like something safe."

"Personally, I would switch from ephedra and take Obirax. This medication works with the seritonine in your brain. The seritonin makes you feel like you need to eat when you don't have to. It isn't an appetite suppresent, but it controls your urges to eat. It doesn't mess w/ your heart. I've taken it for a month now, and I feel better! I have lost some weight, but with time, it will come off. You should consider this one instead."

"Ephedra is legal everywhere, but you must be at least 18 to purchase, and most stores only allow two boxes of anything containing ephedra a day to be purchased per person. It's the "fen" part of the fen-phen combination that is now illegal. (I can't remember the full name of the "fen" stuff… sorry.)"

"10mg is the FDA recommended dosage. Of course, you should be careful when raising the dosage so that you understand your threshold. And if you have ANY kind of heart condition or high blood pressure, then ephedra based products are defininitely off limits."

"If you did enough research on ephedra, you will find that it is now illegal to put it into any diet supplements. So you can take whatever you want, there won't be any ephedra in it anyway."

"Because some people have taken large quantities of ephedrine diet products rather than the recommended dose and have suffered heart problems as a result. So for their stupidity and inability to follow directions, it is being taken off the market."

"Ephedra has caused heart attacts but the real issue is money. It is more valuable to the economy for America to be fat than to be thin. Billions of $$$ are spent on weight loss…anything that actually work is quickly outlawed….profit is is weigh gain not in weight loss."

Reviews:

"I ordered the fastin online because it said it was same as phen. Cost almost just as much and DOES NOT work as well. I still have an appetite and no extra energy like I do with phen. Im mad at myself for spending the money!"

"Fastin is the name brand for phentermine. its a controlled drug in the U.S. so you can;t get it with out a RX. if you order the drug online you are getting a decreased mg, 32.5mg vs 3mg (so don;t bother) i took leptopril ($40) with xantrex ($40)and lost more weight (40 lbs)then when i took phentermine for 3 months(30lbs)."

"Phentermine is the active ingredient in Fastin. Phentermine is still a prescription drug though. It depends on where you are getting Fastin from. Clinics/pharmacies are not allowed by policy to give Rx drugs w/o a prescription. However, there are internet pharmacies that may sell it, but that is an illegal practice."

"I lost almost 40 pounds being on fastin. It stopped working after a few months. I went back to my old eating habits, fast food and such. So I gained it back. if i didn't eat the crap food…I'm sure it would have stayed off."

"I got it from my doctor 8 weeks after I had a baby . I took it for 2 mos and lost about 20 lbs. . . you need to careful taking this medication. . it can make you moody. . sleeplessness. . if you plan to take it got to your doctor for a check up first."

Reviews:

Note: Isagenix is an MLM company, the reviews below may not be unbiased.

"It's just another fad. They'll be around until they make the money they wanted to make off of people and they'll be gone. I was on vacation in PR over this past summer and was parked on the side of a road, by a fruit stand when I was approached by a Isagenix company rep. His oversized self was trying to sell me the product. That alone told me, RUN! LOL…"

"I have used Isagenix for about two years. it works great…but note that i've been sing it for two years. It's very hard to stop the program without gaining back weight, so if you don't want to stay on it long term, be very careful."

"I am on my second 9 day cleanse. During my first 9 days, I lost nine pounds. Now I have lost a total of eleven. I definitely have more energy and a smaller appetite. It's certainly worth the money, especially if you sign up for the autoship and get it at the wholesale price! You can eat during the cleanse because it's not a fast. I love the shakes! I get the vanilla and add a half of a banana and it fills me up and I don't find myself hungry an hour later!"

"I have been using it for almost 2 years. I have lost 22lbs and kept it off for the most part. A little up and down, but mostly the same I love it because it is a simple program to do."

"The clinic that I work for offers it as a weight loss program but the patients who have been on it all have to say that they have seen a big difference in their life styles. They have more energy and have started to eat more healthier."

Lipozene

Reviews:

"I have lost nearly 20 lbs just since I started taking Lipozene! It is a suppressant so you will be full as soon as you begin to eat. Eating less means gaining less weight!"

"Like many weight loss products, Lipozene is not as good as it is cracked up to be. Even in the clinical tests that the commercials love to tout because this is the 'only' drug clinically proven to burn body fat, compared with a placebo group, the participants burned 2 lbs of fat. That's it. Two. (Three total, but the placebo group burned 1, so the drug accounts for 2)."

"Seriously, go buy a double espresso each day. You'll get the same amount of stimulant as that Lipozene crap, you'll get some anti-oxidants from the coffee (good for you), and you'll be supporting your local coffee dude or dudette instead of some big infomercial company preying on your naivety."

"I have been using lipozene for a little over a week and have lost twelve pounds. I use the pills in combination with a healthy low fat and low carb diet. I exercise 2-3 times a week. You can't expect any pill to do the work for you. A pill or supplement is merely an aide. Everyone's body chemistry is different and so results will of course vary but I am satisfied lipozene so far."

"The only ingredient in Lipozene is glucomannan, which is nothing more than a fiber supplement, the primary source being an Asian plant called Konjac. Unfortunately one of the undesirable side effects of glucomannan is that it absorbs necessary fats and nutrients. In high doses, glucomannan may lead to diarrhea, bloating and flatulence."

"I suggest that you read all of the fine print before you order it because I thought about ordering it until i went on the web site and read everything. the best way is to go to a doctor and get some pills it may cost you a little more but at least you know what you are getting and the side effects of them."

"A friend of ours had twins about 9 months ago. She had gained quite a bit more weight than she had planned, of course. She tried this products after she stopped breast feeding when the babies were 6 months old & was on this product for three months. She lost NOTHING, NADA, ZIP, ZERO!!
She was also watching her diet & doing some walking with the kids when weather allowed.
She stopped taking it & started coming to our house & using our endless pool for exercise & she lost 7 pounds the first week. They say that if something sounds to good to be true, it probably is. That The way I feel about all of these diet pills."

"It doesn't dissolve the fat. If you look it up the main ingredient is just a form of fiber. It bulks up in your stomach and makes you feel full. The ads are really misleading. I lost about 7 lb on it but none after that."

"These things are not necessary for most people. Removal of wastes is through sweat, urine, and defecation. If you want to remove more through sweat, then aerobic exercise should help you. Greater fluid intake will help with urination removal of wastes. Defecation can be increased by eating prunes and the like."

"Yeah, I did it, it mostly made me bloated and use the bathroom a lot. I didn't lose the weight. I did lose a few pounds, but I gained it back when I replaced it with food."

"Evercleanse is a waste of money…personal experience. Waste does not get "stuck" in the body, if it did you would know about it as you would be very ill. Yes you will lose weight, as it strips all the fecal matter from the body (by purging) it also dehydrates you. Given a couple of weeks your fluid levels will be back to a healthy level and so will your bowel contents…and you weight will be where it was before the "treatment". The selling strategy is dishonest from start to finish."

Reviews:

"I can honestly say that it does work. I had a really hard time losing weight after I gave birth to my second child. I had tried a lot of different diet pills and weight loss programs with little or no success. i actually heard about the Acai Berry while I was watching Oprah one day and decided to try it. I won't go as far to call it a miracle pill, but I was able to lose 44 lbs in 90 days."

"Now we see the rise of the acai berry - one of the biggest scams on the market. Have you done any personal research on this? Just go to google and look for "acai berry scam" or something similar. People report almost no difference except as a very minor hunger suppressant, and some people report being sent huge amounts of it after their "free" trial without asking for them, with a huge bill on their credit card for the trouble."

"Many nutritional supplements are scams, but the acai berry is better-documented than most of them. Its documented effect, however, is as an antioxidant, not an agent of weight loss- meaning that while it may improve your general metabolic health and protect against some diseases, it is unlikely to help you shed pounds."

"Acai seems to be the flavour of the week in the supplement industry. Results may not be noticed, but the antioxidants in the product might help you in the long term. Remember that most supplements need to be taken for six to eight weeks to see a benefit. The market is flooded with these products as it is a 100 billion dollar a year industry. If any of them performed miracles, we would all be perfect!!"

"I just ordered the free bottle of Acai Berry Power 500, then I discovered that I will be automatically charged $89 a month if I don't call in and order. There are 15 tablets here–but no directions on how many to take per day. Can you clarify that for me?"

"Acai Berry anything is a scam and doesn't work. This is not a trolling comment, that is just how it is. Also, avoid anything seen on opera, I swear. That show is a god damned breeding ground of placebo effects and scams."

I have been using the Acai Berry for a couple months now and really notice improvements in my energy levels. Before I used to get tired througout the afternoon and the Acai Berries seem to help me stay focused.
I've lost about 5 lbs so far and my digestive issues are clearing up I would recommend you check them out.

Hungry Girl

Reviews:

"I ordered it and have not received it in the mail yet. I like her recipes online, so I figured, how can you go wrong? The only thing I don't like is sugar, and will probably go the sugar substitute route, because when I cut out sugar, I seem to lose weight more easily. I did buy "you are what you eat" and have a TERRIBLE time finding ingredients, because the lady who wrote it is a Brit… so I am going to guess that finding the ingredients is going to be a whole lot easier, which I am looking forward to!!!!!!"

"The hungry girl recipes don't seem very healthy. They sound pretty nasty tasting too. I'm thin and I never eat/drink that fake sugar stuff. I just make sure I don't eat too much real sugar or fat. To me, that's a lot easier and healthier than eating the processed artificial chemicals and whatever else is in those "diet" products!"

"I have not tried any of the recipes with 'strange' ingredients, but am certainly willing to try! i really like anything 'breaded' with fiber one! the mozzarella sticks are great, chicken fingers, onion rings - all of it with fiber one! they also have a lot of great tips for everyday cooking & healthy exchanges to use."

"Up to now I've used a few of the recipes, all of which have resulted in some disappointment as is usually the case when cooking mock foods. For example, the fake chocolate peanut butter fudge relies on a small amount of peanut butter to mask the overpowering taste of pumpkin. one small piece was rather filling, but just sat in my stomach like a hard rubber ball. Even the non-fake recipes, such as the the "Yummy, Yummy Eggplant Goo," are mostly poorer versions of other recipes that have small fat contain and low calorie count."

"This was such a disappointment, this is by far the most basic cookbook I've ever read. If you have absolutely no idea of how to cook low in fat and healthy food then maybe it would be useful for you - otherwise pick anything else. I have more than 30 low fat recipe books and unfortunately this one is the worst."

The Japanese Diet is the Banana Diet

Reviews:

"Bananas are a complete food meaning they have all the nutrients you need. I wouldn't do it for more than a couple days or you might have digestive problems. Any "diet" where you are consuming less calories will equal weight loss. You just have to burn off more calories than you eat and you will lose weight."

"Its all about calories in vs calories out. A medium banana has 105 calories. You should have at eat 1,200 calories a day to loose weight and not have you metabolism slow down. So you can eat 11 bananas a day or eat 11 of any other food that is 105 calories. Banana are nutritious and because the peel comes off they are safer than alot of other fruits and veggies. They are high in sugar and don't have much protein or fiber."

"I have been inadvertantly following this diet for years & it has not worked! Seriously, how can it possibly work with just a banana for breakfast, then anything you want for lunch and dinner. The good part is no dessert & in bed before midnight. THOSE are the things that will help you lose weight (but not a ton)."

"Basically you eat raw bananas in the morning while sipping warm water then eat what ever you want at lunch and dinner (don't eat after 8PM), even fried foods are okay for lunch and dinner… just no dessert. At 3PM you get a sweet snack. No exercise is needed unless you want to and I also read that you shouldn't drink too much water, just a little warm water at meal times."
"I have a problem with this diet, eating whatever you want for two meals a day is not going to get people the proper nutrition they need. Also, exercise is vital as well as water and this "diet" seems to cut those out. Personally, I think the individual that lost weight maybe had some bad habits prior (and still does) and benefited from the addition of fruit and water in the morning so lost weight… but the weight loss might not have been such a big deal considering the starting weight."

"I dont understand how a banana can make you lose weight. Doesnt make any sense. Unless you were eating a banana for breakfast and dinner. But then I think not eating dinner is what is actually making you lose weight. That is how I can lose weight anyway."

"Even though bananas contain potassium and lower sodium levels which are good for the body, they have a very high glicemic index/load which spike up insulin levels very much… I'm sure you can get these benefits somewhere else other than bananas… I mean they are ok on moderation, just not making it a constant habit."

"I have been following the banana diet now for 4 days and I have started to lose weight. What I have been doing is eating a banana in the morning with my coffee. Don't eat again til lunch, eat a sensible diet, then I don't eat again til 3, I have a small low calorie snack, then I eat a sensible diet for dinner. I don't eat after dinner, nothing after 8pm and I have been going to bed by midnight and I have been drinking about 1.5 to 2 qts of water a day plus a pot off coffee but don't drink any coffee after lunch. Lost 5 lb so far. Going to stick with it. Been trying to walk a lil each day to build up my walking distance."

The diet featured by Rachel Ray is the Flat Belly Diet

"I just started the flat belly diet. On Thursday I started the 4 day jump-start before the actual diet. I started at 140lbs. I have been walking 4 miles a day for a month and have not lost one ounce. I actually gained 3 lbs. So I thought this diet couldn't hurt. Anyway , On the 3rd morning I was down to 136.4. Sure it was probably fluid, but it's nice to see the scales move after more than a month of exercise. I will continue it because I am losing. The book includes different menus. You even get to eat nut, seeds and use oils. I love nuts and seeds. the jump-start program offers a lower calorie menu than the actual diet. The diet is 1600 calories a day."

"You need to drink Sassy water ( or just plain water if you choose) 8oz.x8 times a day, reduce your intake of breads, pastas, and white rice,(anything with bleached or enriched flour) and every meal eat some monounstrated fatty acids ( also called MUFA). You will find this in olives, olive oil, sun flower seeds, dark chocolate, advocados. Also, you eat 4 meals a day, each 400 cals."

"I'm actually doing it now and it's great–I'm even eating less calories than the diet dictates because I stay so full. It's all about incorporating mono-unsaturated fats into your diet. They are "good" fats, lower cholesterol, melt the "deep" belly fat, and keep you full. They include avocado, nuts, oils (stick to canola, olive, sesame, flax, etc), olives, and chocolate! Include one in every meal (1 tablespoon of oil, or 10 large olives, or 2 tablespoons of nuts, or 1/4 cup avocado, or 1/4 cup of chocolate), and eat four meals per day at 400 calories each."

"I haven't tried it but I have a friend who just started it. It does make a lot of sense to eat the proper types of fats. And, hey, what's not to like about a diet that lets you eat dark chocolate. You should try it out. It is a very sound and healthy diet."

"I tried it for a week. I lost 5 pounds but don't know if it had anything to do with the patch. I ate small meals and worked out 3 day week. It didn't stick very well after getting wet either."
