"This is a very difficult diet. The key foods are whole grains, vegetables, beans and sea vegetables(sea weeds) and soy foods. You should eat fresh produce that is grown in your local areas. This means that if you live in the north east you would not be eating banana or pineapple as these do not grow in your area."
"Well brown rice as whole grains are more weight friendly cause they have more fiber and you absorb carbs slower due to the fiber content. You can eat more fruits and vegetables and lean meats and fish and with exercise daily that's the way to go."
"The macrobiotic diet is pretty strict, especially for someone who is just starting out. It also has a really high carb content so if you're not careful and you cheat, you'll end up gaining weight. Carbs are fine if you're only eating carbs, but if you eat high-carb and high-fat, you'll gain weight. Gwyneth Paltrow follows the macrobiotic diet and it kind of goes along with Asian eating- soup with every meal and lots of rice and legumes, etc."
